She dropped the weight by using the Weight Watchers program and implementing an exercise plan developed by Harley Pasternak called The Five-Factor Diet.

Pasternak has helped many celebrities get their Hollywood bodies, including Kanye West, Jessica Simpson and Alicia Keys.

The Five-Factor Diet works by combining both diet and fitness in segments of 5. For example, the plan involves eating five meals a day, with the 5 major food groups: protein, complex carbohydrates, fat, fluids and fiber. The diet also includes foods that have only 5 ingredients or 5 minutes of prep time. There is one day called a "cheat day" when you can eat anything you want so that you don't feel exceptionally deprived. The fitness side of the Five Factor Diet includes 5, five minute workouts each day, five times per week.

Harley says that the exercises are simple and do not require expensive equipment such as a treadmill or an elliptical machine.

The five workout segments include 5 minutes of cardio warm-up, like jogging, jumping jacks or marching. The second segment involves 5 minutes for the upper body using weights and an exercise bar. The third phase of Harley's exercise program allows 5 minutes of exercise for the lower body. Following the lower body exercise, there are 5 minutes allotted for the abs. The ab exercises include, but are not limited to crunches. The final 5 minutes of the program are for a cardio cool down.

In addition to her 5, five minute workouts, Harley got Jennifer moving by teaching her to incorporate little bits of exercise into her daily life. For instance, if she had to make phone calls, he had her walking and talking at the same time. His advice is that if you can't see yourself continuing a fitness program over the long haul, don't do it.

Jennifer Hudson said that she never wanted to be skinny, but going from a size 16 to a perfect size 6 is a natural, healthy weight for her.
